Wickhamford Manor
I came across Wickhamford Manor B&B on the internet and realized that the Manor was the place my parents met. My Dad was a Canadian Airman posted close by during the end of WW II His name was Allison Rafuse. My mom was in the British Land Army working on crops and on a chicken farm. The Land Army girls were housed at the Manor. My Mom's name was Jessica White. She came to Canada with my Dad as a War Bride. She told me about the dovecot, the chapel, the Washington connection and the other girls who lived there. I cannot remember the name of the head of the household at the time but I can remember her description in my father's words!

My Dad was an amateur artist and he painted a large canvas in oils of the Manor House. I believe that my step mother still has it.

I know that my Mom and Dad spent some time at Sandy's Arms.

I now feel a very real need to come to Evesham and see for myself.

Best Wishes from Canada!
