Club & Group Information

Wickhamford W.I.

The Wickhamford Womens Institute, part of the National Federation of Women's Institutes, was founded in 1951 and meetings were held at Leystones Garage. Over the years we have moved evermore forward and for many years now we have held our meetings at Wickhamford Memorial Hall situated midway along Manor Road. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at 7.30pm. We have a wide ranging variety of guest speakers, a monthly competition relating to the speakers subject and a flower competition. In June we hold a Summer Garden Party for members & their partners. At the December meeting we have our "Christmas Social Evening" and in January our "Christmas Meal". Throughout the year there are various other activities associated with the W.I. including, Theatre Trips, Walks, Invites to other W.I's etc.

As you can see we don't just make cakes and jam, so if you would like to join our group or just join us one night as our guest, you can either come along on the night or for more details you can ring our President,

Yoga Class

The Yoga Classes are held on Monday evenings from 8.00pm until 9.30pm.

A gentle form of Hatha Yoga suitable for both women and men of any age, with a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher.

Individuals are encouraged to work within their own limitations on a series of stretching sequences, postures and breathing exercises. The sessions usually end with a relaxation.

North Cotswold U3A Geology, Palaeontology & Astronomy Group

The Group meets on the third Friday of the month (not August) for Presentation Talks, DVD's, Video's, Slides on one of the above disciplines or a practical examination of Rocks, Fossils or Minerals.

Field Trips are occasionally arranged.

To join this Group requires a U3A membership.

Wickhamford Gardening Club 

The Gardening Club has been in existance for over 25 years and regular monthly meetings are held in the Memorial Hall on the fourth Wednesday in the month at 7.30pm.

The club caters for interested beginners as well as keen and accomplished gardeners.

Specialist speakers are invited to the meetings and also during the year visits are arranged to places and gardens of interest.

Members are encouraged to exibit at two shows during the year with the last meeting of the year being the Christmas Social.

New members are always welcome.
